The following information, dedicated to the protection of personal data, is provided to the interested party so that he or she can understand the processing methods implemented when browsing and using the website www.mekano.it.

Information on the online processing of personal data

A. Type and nature of personal data.

Browsing data. The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website may acquire some personal data, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This category of data (which includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses and domain names of the User’s computer) is collected by the Data Controller for statistical purposes, but through a series of processes, it may be possible to identify the User, for example, to ascertain any liability in the event of cybercrimes committed through or against the Site.

Cookies. Cookies are text files that are automatically generated in the User’s computer following visits to certain pages of the site. Some of these files (session cookies) are automatically removed when the browser is closed. Another type of cookie is recorded and stored on the User’s computer (for example, to automate the login process to the reserved area, the User can choose to have their username and password stored in one of these files). If the User prefers not to receive cookies, they can prevent their transmission by the website by appropriately configuring their internet browser. In some cases, however, use of certain parts of the Site may be dependent on the storage of cookies on the User’s computer.

Data provided voluntarily by the User. The explicit and voluntary provision of personal data by the User is required to access certain services offered by the Data Controller via the website (e.g., registration form for access to the reserved area via a personal account). The personal data processed is essentially identifying data, while sensitive and judicial data may be incidentally processed only when strictly necessary for the proper performance of the service provision relationship between the Company and the User.

B. Purpose of treatment.

The User’s personal data is collected and processed to enable the Data Controller to provide its online services in compliance with the general principles of fairness, lawfulness, and transparency. Processing also occurs for the following related and instrumental purposes: regulating user navigation on the website; providing certain services (such as, for example, accessing personal information in a reserved area, with the option to supplement and/or correct data); fulfilling specific obligations or performing specific tasks required by national and EU legislation, laws, or regulations.

C. Methods of treatment.

To fulfill the obligations and purposes indicated above, personal data will be processed both manually and electronically and will be stored both in a paper archive and in a digital database specifically designed for this purpose. All personal data will be processed in compliance with the minimum security measures required by law, in order to minimize the risk of destruction or loss, unauthorized access, or processing inconsistent with the purposes for which it was collected.

D. Communication of data.

The personal data contained in the reserved area of the website may be disclosed, including through other means, to data controllers and/or processors, as well as to third parties for the purpose of providing and/or optimizing the service (e.g., companies that manage access credentials to the reserved area or maintain the website). Furthermore, the data may be disclosed to third parties in the event of a sale, merger, or acquisition of capital by the Data Controller’s company.

E. Dissemination of data.

Personal data is not subject to disclosure and can only be accessed using login credentials to the reserved area, held only by the interested party.

F. Server location.

All personal data processed will be stored on servers located in Italy.

G. Rights of the interested party.

In relation to the processing of personal data, the interested party may exercise, including by delegation or power of attorney to a natural person or association, the rights granted to them by Article 7 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, and therefore, the right to access the data, the right to obtain rectification and/or updating and/or integration of the data, the right to obtain erasure/anonymization/blocking of data if processed unlawfully, the right to object to the processing for legitimate reasons, and the right to object to processing for advertising and commercial purposes.
